Improving Public Health Outcomes through Enhancing Accelerated Access to Care and Treatment Innovation for COVID-19

IMPAACT4C19

The Unitaid-funded IMPAACT4C19 Consortium is led by The Aurum Institute in partnership with KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation and Treatment Action Group.

It aims to improve access to COVID-19-related quality and affordable diagnostic and therapeutic tools in 5 countries through policy and regulatory support, technical support to ministries of health, supply chain and procurement assistance, and demand generation in communities.

During grant implementation, evidence will be generated to support scale-up and further catalytic uptake in existing countries and beyond.

Integrate

Adopt an integrated model and support programmatic adaptations e.g., TB-COVID and ART sites bidirectional testing, and fever case management. 

Review System Performance

Evaluate health system performance, better clarity on system performance, barriers to address gaps for better response.

Prepare for surges

  • Policies are in place ​
  • Decentralization of testing & treatment services​
  • Develop materials to support policy changes ​
  • Support antivirals uptake

Improve Pandemic preparedness & response

  • Identify key learnings, e.g., adaptations from COVID-19 to improve service delivery​
  • Support a transition from pandemic response  into routine management
